HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutch Rec announces a call for Kansas artists to participate in a public art initiative at DCI Park. As part of the ongoing placemaking efforts through Project Park, Hutch Rec is seeking to commission artists to create 2-D art, textile/gazebo backdrops, and murals that will enrich the park and foster a sense of belonging and personal connection among residents.

“Art has the power to transform public spaces and create meaningful experiences for our community,” says Jace Chambers, arts and culture coordinator at Hutch Rec. “By commissioning local artists, we aim to bring inspiring pieces to DCI Park that reflect the creativity and diversity of Reno County.”

Project Categories:

  1. 2-D Art: To be photographically reproduced and displayed on vinyl banners outdoors in DCI Park.
  2. Textile/Gazebo Backdrop: Artistic backdrops will be used to enhance the park's gazebo area.

  2. Mural Submissions: August 23, 2024
