
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — StartUp Hutch is still looking for owners for the Growing Rural Businesses training StartUp Hutch is bringing to Reno County later this month in collaboration with NetWork Kansas and the WSU Center for Entrepreneurship.
The program will run for eight weeks on Thursday evenings, beginning Jan. 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Over 335 businesses have been served through this program in 19 different counties.
There is still time for people to sign up with the Early Bird discount, but the number of participants is limited to 25. The cost with the discount is $250 for the total class.
"I really like the way the group is shaping up," said Jackson Swearer with StartUp Hutch. "We have a diverse set of industries and business types represented, with owners from across the county who have a variety of backgrounds and skill sets."

Entrepreneurial Mindset for Small Businesses: Assessing your entrepreneurial spirit; building a business concept statement and vision.
Customer Discovery: The Roadmap to a Successful Marketing Plan
Applying market research/market segmentation.
Marketing: Putting Google to Work for Your Business
How this drives success on Google resulting in profitable customer action.
Basic Sales Techniques and Practices for Selling: Selling the concept and the keys of making a sale, identifying a potential customer.
Practical Legal Issues: Improving vendor relationships, negotiations, and contracts for positive (win/win) outcomes.
Creating Value for Your Customers: Customer service/consumer behavior, exceeding customer needs before, during and after.
Keeping a Financial Focus: Monitoring critical numbers and financial control systems of your business.
Bringing it All Together: Developing an Effective Niche Strategy for competitive advantage in the marketplace.
