3 Kan. men hospitalized after semi rear-ends a pickup

KINGMAN COUNTY—Three people were injured in an accident just before 4p.m. Monday in Kingman County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2023 Peterbilt semi driven by  39-year-old Daniel Esparza-Ramirez was eastbound on U.S. 54 seven miles west of Kingman.

The semi rear-ended a 2020 Ram 2500 driven by Jose Manuel Bugarini, 23, Great Bend, who was slowing to make a right turn.

EMS transported Bugarini and passengers in the pickup identified as Fernando Barrera, 30 and Mario  Martinez, 24, both of Great Bend to Pratt Regional Medical Center.  The KHP did not have complete seat belt usage information or additional details on Esparza-Ramirez. He was not injured.
