The National Milk Producers Federation and other dairy groups are very happy. That's because the Senate Ag Committee voted in the “Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act.”
The bill’s markup is a critical first step in passing the bipartisan legislation, which has already been approved in the House ag committee.
National Milks President Gregg Doud said that passing the Act will allow more schoolkids to access the essential nutrients they need in their diets. If it does get signed into law, give schools with the option of serving whole and two-percent milk, because right now, they can only offer one percent or completely fat-free milk.
