Marvis C. (Spurlock) Doering, 83, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Pine Village. She was born November 7, 1940 in Galena, Kansas, to Elmer G. and Mattie M. (Simpson) Spurlock.
She married Ferdinand Doering on April 16, 1976. He preceded her in death in March of 1996.
Marvis was an active member of Moundridge United Methodist Church, and was treasurer for the United Methodist Women. She was a Hutchinson District Shepherdess for the Great Plains Conference of the United Methodist Church.
She worked as a welder at Hesston Corporation (AGCO) for 25 years.
Marvis is survived by her stepson, Michael (Mary) Doering; stepdaughter, Marion (James) Craig; grandchildren, Shane (Tonya) Sebrant and Ramie Sebrant; great-grandchildren, Kalyah, Keira and ZiZi Sebrant; great-great-grandson, Wyckem Smith; and multiple nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Mansel and Jack L. Spurlock; sisters, Dorothy Demanche, Mildred Donner Swick, and Bertha Waber; nieces, Janet L. Richert and Brenda Spurlock; and nephew, Henry Spurlock.
