Earl ‘Shorty’ Neal Reneau, 82, of Pretty Prairie, KS, died Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Prairie Sunset Home in Pretty Prairie, KS. He was born on December 19, 1938, at Oakwood, OK, the son of Ivan and Mary (Higgenbottom) Reneau. On June 28, 1959 he married Betty Stewart in Carmen, OK. She survives.

During high school, he joined the National Guard. He then joined the Navy and served from Oct. 1957 - Dec. 1961. He earned a masters degree and was a Teacher/Principal/Coach from 1967-1996. Most of those years were spent teaching & coaching for USD 254. He loved to go camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Medicine Lodge and had served as deacon.

Surviving are his wife Betty, children, Tammy (John) Ricke of Mulvane, KS, Alicia Harbaugh of Pretty Prairie and Monte (Julie) Reneau of Hutchinson, KS, grandchildren, Jeramie (Jana) Boor, Jerrod (Ashley) Boor, Eric (Jenny) Harbaugh, Dustin (Krystal) Harbaugh, Cory (Melanie) Harbaugh, Nia Reneau, Leyton Reneau and Kye Reneau, 14 great grandchildren, brothers, Dale (Caroljane) Reneau of Joplin, MO and Jim (Merry) Reneau of Wakita, OK, sisters-in-law, Jo Reneau, Nelletta Johnson and Audrey Crawford, and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan & Mary, brothers, Roy and Gene Reneau, sister, Lois Packer, and a son-in-law, Scott Boor.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5:00 - 7:00p.m. at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 26th at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, KS with Pastor Tom Walters officiating. Burial will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Carmen Cemetery, Carmen, OK.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church or Parkinson Foundation in care of the funeral home.
