Mary Kathryn (Yoder) Stucky |1927-2023|

Mary Kathryn (Yoder) Stucky, 95, died April 23, 2023. She was born June 29, 1927, to Eli T. and Ida (Plank) Yoder. She was raised on farms in the Hesston area, and in high school the family resided at a farm a few miles northwest of Walton. She attended Hesston Academy, and graduated from Walton High School in 1946. She attended Bethel College two years where she met Ransom Stucky. Ransom and Mary Kathryn were married in the Bethel College chapel on October 24, 1948.

They established a dairy farm in western Harvey County. Mary Kathryn raised a large family, a big garden, and farmed together with Ransom for many years. They were members of the First Mennonite Church of Christian in Moundridge. In 1997, Ransom and Mary Kathryn moved to Pine Village independent living in Moundridge. Ransom passed away March 14, 2011.

Ransom and Mary Kathryn had five children, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Children are Diana F. Graber (Charles) of Newton, Clinton D. Stucky (Kim Lockwood) of Wichita, Brian D. Stucky (Nancy) of Goessel, Annette K. Epp (Don) of Buhler and Janice L. Hershberger (Dale) of Clay Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Arnold Yoder, Lawrence Yoder, and Dr. Vernon Yoder.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2023 with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moundridge Funeral Home. The committal service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 29, in the First Mennonite Church Cemetery in Moundridge, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at First Mennonite Church of Christian.
