ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect for an alleged violent attack.

On Monday morning police became aware of a domestic disturbance that had occurred around 4a.m. on Sunday morning at a residence in the 1100 block Kearney Street in Atchison, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.

It was determined that a 28-year-old woman had suffered injuries during the disturbance after being threatened and injured with a knife, a belt, and fists.

That investigation led officers to the 26-year-old suspect, Dwayne Lacey, who was taken into custody at 6:30p.m. on Monday in the 500 block Kansas Avenue.

Dwayne E. Lacey, Jr., is being held on requested charges of aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and domestic battery, according to Wilson.  The woman did not require hospitalization, according to Wilson.
