RICE COUNTY — A Great Bend man died in an accident Christmas Eve night in Rice County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2008 Mazda driven by 23-year-old Skyler L. Warren of Great Bend was northbound on K-14 four miles east of Sterling when it crossed the center line into the path of a 2005 GMC Yukon Denali driven by 21-year-old Jessalyn K. Chairez of Hutchinson.
Warren was pronounced dead at the scene. Chairez was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with a suspected serious injury.
According to the KHP report, Chairez was wearing her seatbelt. Warren was not.
