Doyle R. Ramsey, 71, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, at his home. He was born March 9, 1951, in Great Bend, KS, to Olen O. and Alma M. (Rich) Ramsey.
After graduating from McPherson College, McPherson, KS, Doyle began his career as an accountant, ultimately landing at Republic Paperboard, where he worked for nearly 20 years, holding positions from Cost Accountant to Executive Vice-President, until his retirement. He enjoyed softball, basketball, singing and playing guitar in the church choir. Family and friends were a focal point of his life.
On September 20, 1974, Doyle married Roberta ‘Bobbi’ A. Ramsey. They shared over 45 years of marriage, prior to her death in 2020.
He is survived by: his daughter, Theresa (Mark) Walton of Hutchinson; granddaughter, Mahlyn Walton of Hutchinson; sisters, Sharon (Keith) Church and Donna (Ron) Alumbaugh, both of McPherson, KS; brothers, Gene (Mary) Ramsey of Hutchinson and Lowell (Jenny) Ramsey of Tecumseh, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doyle was preceded in death by: his wife, Bobbi; parents; and brother, Charles Ramsey.
Parish Rosary will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 211 E. 5th Avenue, Hutchinson, with Father Matt Glazier officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2022, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. The casket will remain closed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Teresa Catholic Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
