WYANDOTTE COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 5a.m. Wednesday in Wyandotte County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2013 Toyota Tundra driven by Brent Young, 40, Mission, was eastbound on Interstate 70 just south of Interstate 635 in the number three lane.
The pickup rear-ended a 1998 Dodge Dakota driven by Curtis Brockman, 47, Kansas City, Kansas, who was traveling at a slow rate of speed, according to the KHP.
After impact, both vehicle traveled off the road and struck an embankment. The Dodge caught fire and Brockman was trapped inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
EMS transported Young to KU Medical Center. The KHP had incomplete seat belt usage information.
