Janet Sue Regehr, 81, passed away February 23, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 3, 1942 in Garden City, KS, the daughter of Guy and Doris Rosington Green. She was a 1960 graduate of Hutchinson High School. She married Arlin Regehr on April 21, 1961 in Hutchinson, after falling in love quickly. He passed away July 29, 2000.

Janet was a caregiver by nature with a lifelong joy of sharing love and compassion for others. In her professional career, Janet had been a CNA at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and then a bookkeeper at Penner’s Feed and Supply. Later, she provided in-home childcare, and touched countless lives of her daycare families. She would later retire from Pleasant View Home, where she worked as a dietary aide.

Loyal always, Janet enjoyed close family relationships to span generations and friendships that lasted lifetimes. She loved to take traveling bus trips with her favorite buddies, Kay and Eva, was a member of the Inman Mennonite Church and the Inman Lions Club. Janet will always be remembered for her witty humor and generous heart. She loved and appreciated everyone she knew and cared deeply for all.

Survivors include her children, Susan (Regehr) Achilles, Hutchinson, Bradley Regehr, South Hutchinson, and Rock (Sheila) Regehr, Hutchinson; 2 brothers, Donald Green, Inman and David Green, South Hutchinson; a sister, Cheryl Green, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Tyler (Dalton) Achilles, Erin Achilles, Jordan (Alex) Mains, Kylie Regehr, Zachary (Brooke) Regehr, and Grace Regehr; 6 great grandchildren, and generations to come.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband, a brother, Dennis Green, and her beloved cat, Jack, of nearly 20 years.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Inman Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at North Inman Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Inman Public Library, Inman Senior Center, Inman Mennonite Church, all in care of the funeral home.
