Margaret I. “Margie” (Haines) Beltz Denton, 97, of Hutchinson, died March 16, 2024, at her home. She was born May 24, 1926, in Hutchinson, to Clarence H. and Letta Juanita (Collins) Haines.
Margie graduated from Haven High School, Hutchinson Community College, and Kansas State University and attended one year of McPherson College. She was a farmer’s wife and a kindergarten teacher. Margie enjoyed Kansas State athletics, including football, basketball, and Kansas City Royals baseball. She loved to travel. Margie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Margie married and had two children with Quinlin Beltz. He died on November 27, 1991. Later, on June 16, 1996, she married Leland G. Denton in Hutchinson. She moved to Topeka where he was residing and shared over 16 wonderful years of marriage before his death on November 15, 2012.
Margie is survived by: daughters, Vickie Rucker of Hutchinson and Debbie (Larry) Wilson of Topeka, KS; son, Randy (Carole) Denton of Topeka; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and son, Dwight Beltz.
Private family service took place March 22, 2024, at Elliott Chapel. Private burial followed in Laurel Cemetery, rural Haven.
