Virginia Ann “Ginger” Osgood, 87, died December 30, 2022, at Legend Senior Living, Hutchinson. She was born February 26, 1935, in Hutchinson, to Richard Raymond and Bertha May (Mitchell) Waggoner.
Ginger graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1953. She worked in the restaurant and food service industry her entire career. Ginger owned a grocery store in Nebraska, served as a restaurant manager, and was also a school cook. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.
In 1956, she married Robert “Bob” Speer; he died in 1967. On January 11, 1969, she married Floyd Osgood, in Hutchinson. He died February 11, 2013, after they shared over 44 years of marriage.
Ginger is survived by: daughter, Michelle Goodwin (Aaron) of Wichita; grandson, Michael Ray Speer-Wood of Ranier, WA; granddaughters, Brianna and Lacy Goodwin; stepchildren, Mike Osgood (Marla) of Dallas, TX, Darrell Osgood (Tricia) of Raytown, MO, and Marilyn Scott of TX; sister-in-law, Lanora Waggoner of Kansas City; numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husbands Bob Speer and Floyd Osgood; son, Mike Woods; stepdaughter, Barbara Woods; brothers, Jim and Allen Waggoner; and a sister, Diana Waggoner,
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2023, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 N. Main Street, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Michael Tomson-DeGreeff officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023, and 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary.
