Cecil Ray Newman  |1951-2022| 

Cecil Ray Newman, 71, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 4, 1951 in Mooreland, Oklahoma to Carl and Lena (Perrin) Newman. Cecil married Kimberly Jean (Stone) Newman on May 21, 1972 in Medicine Lodge. They were married for 50 years.

Cecil graduated from Mooreland High School in 1969. He joined the United States Army in March of 1971 and served until December of 1973. He began college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and then transferred to Wichita State University where he graduated with his Bachelor in Accounting. He owned Cecil R. Newman Accounting Firm for 40 years until retiring in 2020. He was a member of The Lions Club and served on the Peace Treaty Board. He was a treasurer and Deacon at First Christian Church where he served on the board as well. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing cards every Wednesday evening.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Newman; son, Michael (Sarah) Newman of Medicine Lodge; daughter, Georgia Ann (Chris) Miller of Lindsborg; and 8 grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book Friday, December 2, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 East Lincoln, Medicine Lodge. A remembrance service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022 at First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge with Pastor Tom Walters presiding.
