Roy Lee Williams, 87, of Valley Center, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at the Kansas Veterans Home. He was born in Cooper County, Missouri to John W. Williams and Mary (Felton) Williams. After 8th grade graduation, you would find him working jobs for business owners in town. Being a very hard worker, he went into construction and driving Semis to owning his own Fleet of Trucks. He and his late wife Eleanor worked together running the company for many years. In 1953, Roy at St. Louis, Missouri entered the United States Navy, where he served until 1957. He had a great heart, mind and honor in his service to his Nation.
He met and married the love of his life, Eleanor Mae Williams, on July 15, 1977 in Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him on December 5, 2020. They enjoyed 43 yrs together which involved their business, traveling together, going to church, and the greatest love was spending time with family.
Roy is survived by his son Joey Williams, daughters Glenda Inman, Tammy Williams and Debbie O'Brian, grandchildren Jessica, Ethan, Jordan, Kevin, Kayce, Timmy, Bobby, and Shawn, all of Pilot Grove, Missouri; stepson Gary & Melva Geortz of Valley Center, step grandchildren Jacki & Terry Walkins of Murdock, Tyleigh & Christopher Mattison of Hutchinson; brothers Robert 'Bob' Williams of Grain Valley, MO and Ken Williams of Broken Arrow, OK; many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor, his parents John and Mary, brothers John, Wilbur, William, Darrell, Roger and his sister Mary, stepdaughter Jeanne Mitchell and granddaughter Sasha Skaggs.
Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Valley Center Memorial Cemetery, Valley Center, Kansas with Military Honors.
