According to Reno County Emergency Management, on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 9:30 p.m., Reno County Fire District 7 was notified of a large hay fire at the Turon Feedlot.
Upon arrival crews found 2100 hay bales on fire.
Mutual aid was requested from Fire Districts 4 and 6.
Crews worked with feedlot staff to move unburned hay. The fire was contained to the hay pile. Feedlot staff will be monitoring the fire. The hay pile will be burning for several days.
