Sheriff's Dept. investigating crash, vehicle reported stolen

RENO COUNTY, Kan. — The Reno County Sheriff's Office is investigating a two-vehicle injury accident that occurred Thursday morning, June 8. 

At 2 a.m., deputies from the Reno County Sheriff’s Office, Haven EMS, and District 9 Fire were dispatched to 24510 S. Willison Rd. for an injury motor-vehicle accident that involved a white Chevrolet Silverado and a blue Dodge Ram.

When the first deputy arrived on-scene, he located the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado and proceeded with medical assessment. The driver was identified as Gary Wayne Dick of Hutchinson.

There was no driver located for the blue Dodge Ram.

As EMS was assessing Gary, deputies began searching the area alongside firefighters to attempt to locate the driver of the Dodge Ram.

A drone was deployed with infrared capabilities and it was determined there was no driver in the area.

A wallet belonging to the owner of the Dodge Ram was located in the wreckage and he was identified as Timothy Matthew England of Hutchinson.

As deputies finished working the accident, England called 911 to report his truck as stolen.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has information is asked to contact the Reno County Sheriff's Office at (620) 694-2735.
