Rebel Dee Benton, 62, died June 27, 2024, at Legend of Hutchinson. She was born January 7, 1962, in Hutchinson, to Charles William Blackburn and Ellen Louise (Davis) Blackburn.
Rebel graduated from Hutchinson High School, Hutchinson Community Junior College and Tabor College, with a bachelor's degree of science in nursing. She was a seamstress for The Buckle. Rebel worked as a nurse for Hutch Hospital, Hutchinson Correctional Facility, Topeka Juvenile Detention Center and various nursing homes throughout Hutchinson, McPherson, Buhler and Manhattan. Rebel taught aerobics and water aerobics. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Rebel is survived by: sons, Devin Ojeda of Manhattan, Trevor Ukens of Wichita; 3 grandchildren; mother, Ellen Beachy of Hutchinson; brothers, Michael Blackburn of South Hutchinson, Nile Blackburn of Blackbear, CO, Joshua Blackburn of Jacksonville, FL and Kevin Blackburn of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Charles W. Blackburn; and her grandparents.
Cremation has taken place; no services are planned at this time.
