
The Wesley is seeking a full-time Certified Medication Aide (CMA) for its day shift.
Position: Certified Medication Aide Schedule: Full time, day shift Pay: $17-$25 per hour
The CMA works under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse and provides medication administration and resident care while promoting safety, comfort, independence and overall well-being.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and administer oral and topical medications as ordered.
- Document medication administration and outcomes of PRN medications.
- Notify licensed nurses of medication needs, errors and discontinued medications.
- Assist with controlled medication counts.
- Provide personal care while maintaining residents' dignity and rights.
- Assist with residents' plans of care.
- Answer call lights and complete required documentation.
- Assist residents with transfers, ambulation, exercise and transportation.
- Help with meals, snacks and other nutritional needs.
- Monitor residents and report behavioral or physical changes.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
- Perform treatments and document observations and progress.
Qualifications:
- Current Kansas CMA certification required.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must maintain CMA certification through required continuing education.
- Previous geriatric care experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude toward caring for older adults.
- Ability to handle the mental and emotional demands of the position.
