SEDGWICK COUNTY—A law enforcement officer is recovering from injuries in an accident that occurred just after 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Wichita.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2020 Ford Explorer driven by Christopher Ruhlen, 34,Wichita, was southbound on Main Street passing through the intersection of Main and Kellogg Drive with emergency lights activated.
An eastbound 2018 Ford F150 driven by Ernest Ramirez, 60, Hutchinson, struck the SUV on the passenger side door and quarter panel.
EMS transported both drivers to a local hospital for treatment. Two juveniles were present in the vehicle; juvenile record protected data.
Wichita police released no additional details on the incident or why Ruhlen had emergency lights activated.
