
David "Dave" Eugene Mulford passed away on June 26th, 2023 in the Hospice House surrounded by his daughters and grandchildren.
David was born on January 4th 1959, in Wichita, Ks. Destined for amazing things since birth, David lived in Towanda, KS for most of his childhood. If he wasn't working the family land or playing sports, David enjoyed bringing laughter and chaos to everyone's lives with his pranks and antics.
David attended Circle High School. Shortly after he enlisted in the army where he became a medic. David met the love of his life Bonnie which he married and adopted her daughter as his own before having their daughters. They owned Saguaro Coach and Chassis, located in Tucson, Az. After a divorce and passing of their mother, his younger two girls moved to Kansas with David.
In his life after Bonnie, David helped to raise two more children. David was a passionate advocate for those with disabilities and a leader in the Kansas Democratic Party Disability Caucus, as well as president of Kansas for Change. He was an intelligent, caring, determined, and stubborn guy who always stood up for what he believed was right.
He was credited with assisting in the passing of multiple bills including "Joey's Law", and was a vocal supporter for the legalization of Medical Cannabis and Agricultural Hemp. When not advocating for important causes, he enjoyed fishing, watching football, building things, creating inventions, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
David is survived by his daughter Shawna and her fiancé Ellis; daughter Jamee and her wife Constance; daughter Tiffany; step son August; Adoptive Daughter Sidney Reynolds; and grandchildren Onesia, Aarin, Alaina, Talaylah, Giavanna, Chaya, Davion, Davaris, Valeria, Demarion, Remington, Jade, and Peyton. David was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; his former wife, Bonnie and several close friends.
Friends and family of David are invited to a public come and go viewing/memorial at Old Mission Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 5th from 3pm to 9pm. The family will be present to receive expressions of condolences.
