The Fox Theatre is building on the momentum of a successful fundraising event while preparing for a busy summer filled with classic films, patriotic music and the announcement of its next performance season.
Executive Director Josh Davies said the recent fundraising event held in partnership with the Meyer Landmark exceeded expectations, drawing a strong crowd and highlighting two of downtown Hutchinson's most recognizable historic landmarks.

The event celebrated the Fox Theatre's 95th anniversary while also giving attendees a preview of the restored Meyer Landmark before its official opening. Davies credited Mike and Laura Dick for partnering with the Fox on the fundraiser and thanked those who attended.
The event also honored the legacy of the late Nate Meyer, whose lifelong support helped make the Fox Theatre's restoration possible. Meyer attended the theater's grand opening in 1931 as a child and returned for its reopening after restoration in 1999. Davies described him as a passionate advocate for preserving Hutchinson's history and downtown landmarks.
Summer movies
With live performances slowing during the summer months, the Fox shifts its focus to movies.
The theater's Summer Kids Series offers family-friendly films on Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings. Admission is $4, while an eight-punch pass costs $16, allowing families to attend multiple movies at a reduced price.
The Fox is also continuing its Retro and Classic Film Series, featuring films such as Pretty Woman, Sabrina, Pee-wee's Big Adventure, Young Frankenstein, Fantasia, State Fair and Close Encounters of the Third Kind throughout the summer.
Regular movie admission is $7 for adults and $6 for students, seniors, veterans and active-duty military members. A $50 Fox Film Series Pass includes 10 admissions and five complimentary small popcorns. Davies noted the affordable pricing is made possible through support from presenting sponsor PrairieStar Health Center, along with additional sponsors for the children's series.
Patriotic concert set for June 30
The Fox Theatre will host a free patriotic concert at 7:30 p.m. June 30 featuring the Hutchinson Municipal Band and the Reno County Choral Society as part of the nation's 250th anniversary celebration.

Davies noted the Municipal Band has deep ties to the Fox, having performed in a parade during the theater's grand opening in 1931. The concert is open to the public and will celebrate both American music and local history.
New season announcement coming July 2
The Fox Theatre will unveil its 2026-27 performance season during a free public event on Wednesday, July 2.

Doors open at 5:15 p.m. with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar before the presentation begins at 6 p.m. Davies will introduce the upcoming lineup and officially reveal the season's performances.
