HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Emancipation Committee posted on social media that their New Year's Dinner and Dance has been canceled because the interest received with a pre-sale ticket discount at $35 per person had a very low response.
The event was designed to be a fundraiser to be able to add on to the celebration in August. The dinner was going to be a nice sit down dinner with 3 choices of meat, 3 choices of sides and a variety of delicious desserts.
The plan was to provide free set ups for the whole evening and everyone would have received a glass of champagne at midnight to toast in 2023.
The Hutch Clique had been booked to provide music for the evening, as well as prizes to give away.
The Emancipation Committee is trying to bring folks together to have a good time and bring back unity within the community. There are plans for another fundraiser between now and next August.
