Robert Lee Schmidt  |1945-2022| 

Robert Lee Schmidt, 77, of Moundridge, formerly of Alligator, MS, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Pine Village retirement home. He was born August 25, 1945 in Montezuma, to Jesse and Frances (Yost) Schmidt.

He attended Montezuma Grade School. His lifelong occupation was ag land forming. He was a member of Clarksdale Mennonite Church, Clarksdale, MS.

Robert was married to Ardith Unruh on June 6, 1971 at Hesston, KS.

He is survived by his wife, Ardith; children and grandchildren, Marilee (Brent) Gable, Brooke, Jeremy; Richard (Heather) Schmidt, Jake, Willa; Janette (Brandon) Schmidt, Elizabeth, James, Ethan, Caroline; Larry (Eileen) Schmidt, Kasey, Sienna, Kaylee, all of Clarksdale, MS; brothers, Elwin (Priscilla) Schmidt, Hesston, Laurel (Carolyn) Schmidt, Barnett, MO, Kenneth (Anita) Schmidt, David (Virginia) Schmidt, twin sister, Ruth (Walter) Toews, all of Montezuma; brothers-in-law, Rodney Koehn, Montezuma, and Dave (Phyllis) Yost, Moundridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Arlene Koehn and Carolyn Yost.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, October 14, 2022 at the Garden View Mennonite Church in Halstead. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, with burial in the Garden View Mennonite Church Cemetery.
