Peggy Lucille Parrish Miller, a beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed peacefully on April 4, 2025, at the age of 87, in Lawrence, KS. She was born May 14, 1937, in rural Coats, KS to Howard and Lucille (Yankee) Parrish-Bailey. Peggy spent her childhood in the Coats area, later she moved with her family to Dallas, TX. She graduated from Crozier Tech High School, Dallas, and then majored in English at Southwestern College; a Methodist college, in Georgetown, TX.

Most of Peggy’s adult life was spent in Hutchinson. Her working career involved several accounting firms, eventually retiring from the Branine-Chalfant and Hill Law Offices. When not working, Peggy found joy in a variety of social and hands-on activities, including music, sewing and craft projects, and trying new recipes. She enjoyed traveling, wintering in South Texas, in her RV, and spending time with her family. Peggy’s grandchildren enjoyed Sunday morning breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. She was also a dedicated member of the Hutchinson AMVETS National Ladies Auxiliary, holding several offices over the years.

Peggy leaves behind her four children, Ron (Jill) Anderson of Lawrence, Judy (Dennis) Gabehart, Gayle (Al) Howell, both of Hutchinson, Shelly Anderson of Echo, OR; five stepchildren; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Judy (Larry) Plunket; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, beloved spouses, Lewis Miller and Bill Miller, former-spouse and father of her children, Ronald Anderson; brother, Howard “Gene” Parrish; and a great-great grandson.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025, in Partridge Cemetery, 8304 S Partridge Rd, Partridge. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary. Friends may sign the book Tuesday through Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
