HUTCHINSON, Kan.โThe Hutch High Salthawk Boys jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead in the 1st quarter and never looked back as they throttled Buhler Friday night at the SAC 69-35.
The Salhawks led after 1 quarter of play 15-4, but gave up 2 quick Buhler baskets to start the 2nd quarter. Coach Bryan Miller called a quick time out which led to the Salthawks erupting for 24 points to lead at the half 39-14 over the Crusaders.
Hutchinson continued to force turnovers and get quick baskets as the Salthawks extended the lead to 56-28 by the end of the 3rd quarter. The 4th quarter saw a running clock as Hutchinson closed it out for a 69-35 win over the Crusaders.
Hutch was led by Terrell King's 18 points, Garrett Robertson had 16 and Julian Smith chipped in 10 points. Nic Lange also finished with 9 points on the night.
Buhler was led by Ethan Stambaugh's 10 points.
Hutch snapped a four game losing streak to Buhler to go 2-0 on the season. Buhler drops to 1-2.
Hutchinson (2-0) hosts Salina South (0-3) on Tuesday night at the SAC.
