Jerry Dean Josephson, 77, died March 8, 2025, at his home.  He was born September 3, 1947, in Hutchinson, to Jack Leon and Norma Jean (Tice) Josephson. 

Jerry graduated from Nickerson High School in 1965.  Three months after graduating high school, he was drafted into the United States Army, serving in Vietnam.  After returning from Vietnam, Jerry attended barber school.  For over 46 years, he owned Jerry’s Barber Styling, in South Hutchinson.  Jerry enjoyed swimming at the YMCA, listening to music, and cheering on the K-State Wildcats.  In 1998, Jerry was diagnosed with soft-tissue sarcoma, a result of exposure to Agent Orange during Vietnam.  Despite his diagnosis and needed procedures, he remained positive, thankful, and appreciative for everything the Veteran’s Administration did for him, as well as his family and friends.  In 2019, Jerry was able to attend the Kansas Honor Flight with his daughter, Brecken. In addition, Jerry was a member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post 68 and Bob Campbell VFW Post 1361. 

On April 6, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Vicki Sue Dean, in Hutchinson. 

Jerry is survived by:  the love of his life for almost 57 years, Vicki of Hutchinson; daughter, Brecken MacMahon (Bryan Gentry) of Simi Valley, CA; brother, Jeff Josephson (Doris) of Olathe; stepsister, Sandra “Sandy” Zwick (Gary) of Sterling; nephews, Zach Josephson and Cody Josephson; niece, Chelsea Josephson, all of Olathe; and a host of former clients and friends.  

He was preceded in death by:  his parents; stepmother, Margaret Yvonne Josephson; daughter, Megan Renee Josephson; and stepsister, Nancy McConnell. 

Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at Elliott Chapel.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with military honors conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 until service time Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
