Jeannine Ann Rayl, 92, died August 12, 2023, surrounded by her family, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.  She was born October 31, 1930, in Hutchinson, to Hal C. and Anna (Magyar) Nelson.

Jeannine graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1947, and received her nursing degree from Hutchinson Community Junior College.  She was one of the first two married women who were admitted to nursing school. For over 45 years, Jeannine worked as a registered nurse, retiring on her 85th birthday.  From taking care of patients to teaching nursing students and nursing classes, Jeannine made an impact on everyone with her knowledge, compassion and extraordinary beauty, both on the inside and outside.  In 2014, she was inducted into the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System Nursing Hall of Fame.  

Jeannine always made time for fun whether it was cooking, fishing, playing bridge, traveling, or taking vacations.  She was an avid golfer and played in numerous golf tournaments. Jeannine was also a member of P.E.O. Chapter D and Grace Episcopal Church, Hutchinson, where she served on numerous committees.  She was an amazing nurse, but she always put her family first.  Jeannine excelled as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  

Jeannine is survived by:  her children, Curtis Sanders (Diane) of Hutchinson, Susan Haines (Fred), and Julie Ross (Robb), all of Sterling; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Reichert, Jillian Miller (Kevin), Luke Haines (Julisa), Jake Haines (Ashlee), Alex Haines (Amber), Riley Ross (Mindy), Katie Schoenhoff (Mason), and Kari Wilkie (Dennis); 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister Jeannette Wyatt of Sun City, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her son, Stuart Sanders; and her first husband, Stan Sanders; and her second husband, Willie Rayl. 

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Grace Episcopal Church, 2 Hyde Park Drive, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. J. Ted Blakley officiating.  Graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.  The casket will remain closed.
