HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson YMCA is giving an opportunity to save a little money starting next month for those that want to join.
"We'll be doing a July membership promo of people that maybe are a little slow or just wanting to get a headstart maybe on fall," said David Foster with the Hutchinson YMCA. "We will be waiving the joiner fee. So that's a $50 savings and that promotion will go from July 8th through the 23rd."
It's really not that expensive to get started.
"Generally, a family membership is $57.90 a month and an adult membership is $38.80," Foster said. "A youth membership is $18. We also have senior individual memberships for folks 65 and older and senior couple memberships, and only one of the couple needs to be 65 and older."
Also, some employers in town give their employees a break on a membership.
"We've grown our corporate membership base quite a bit over the last couple of years," Foster said. "It's always a great thing to either ask your employer or ask at the Y when you come in, and we can look you up. Sometimes you will qualify just for being an employee of a local company, which is a great way to save a little bit more money as well."
If you have questions, give the Y a call at (620) 662-1203.
