
UPDATE AS OF 4:25 P.M. Fire crews continue to make good progress on this afternoons fire that started about two miles southwest of the naval air base. The fire was first reported near the intersection of K-14 and Arlington Rd. and move quickly north and northeast. Still no word on any injuries or damage in the area. Crews continue to be released back into service at this time.

UPDATE AS OF 3:30 P.M. Fire crews appear to be getting the upper hand on the fire. Some of the crews are being released from the fire at this time. So far no reports of any damage or injuries from the fire. Crews from all over Reno Co. as well as crews Sedgwick Co. are working the fire along with a crew from the Kansas Forest Service.

YODER, Kan. — Fire crews from all around the area are on the scene of a major brush fire near Castleton.
The fire started near K-14 and Arlington Road and is burning to the east and northeast. Areas along Castleton Road are also involved.
No word on any damage or injuries at this time. Winds are out of the west at 25 with gusts to 40 mph.
Haven USD 312 says buses will run where they can. If buses cannot take a particular route, parents will be notified on a case-by-case basis on making contact with their students.
