HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Central Christian School is continuing the school's 75th Anniversary Celebration at its Stewardship Dinner on Saturday, November 11.

"The Stewardship Dinner is our yearly fundraising banquet," said Dr. John Walker with Central Christian School. "It really is a great time to connect with other people, to have fellowship and enjoy some good food. This year, we have the German supper we're bringing back for one year only, which has the famous verenika that everybody loves. Our guest speaker is the President and CEO of Renewanation, Jeff Keaton. He has agreed to be our speaker. Renewanation is an organization that supports and encourages Christian schools across the nation."

Going back through the school's history has been a testament to God's faithfulness to the school.

"One of the things that's been real exciting, is just to hear the stories of alumni through the years and people who have worked at the school for a variety of years," Walker said. "The amount of times I've heard stories about the school almost not making ends meet and people not getting paid, willingly not getting paid to make sure that the school continues on, is really cool. It reminds me of Psalm 126:3, which says, The Lord has done great things for us. We are very glad. That is our theme verse this year."

In addition to the speaker, there will be a chance for former CCS musicians to return and perform.

"One of the really neat things I think was a really great idea by our staff and our volunteers who are coordinating the Stewardship Dinner this Saturday, they thought it would be a really neat thing, at our 75th anniversary, if we had alumni who participated in choir or just alumni in general who wanted to come back and practice, to perform that night."

The Stewardship Dinner at CCS seeks to affirm the importance of a biblical worldview education and to encourage families and constituents to consider supporting CCS with prayer and financial gifts.
