
NEWTON, Kan. —The State Historic Preservation Office notified the City of Newton on Friday of a successful $30,000 Historic Preservation Fund grant to fund a survey of historic resources in downtown Newton.
The City plans to re-survey the downtown to assist with future historic rehabilitation projects and Main Street initiatives.
Newton's award was one of seven projects across the state for a total of $169,319.
