Myrna Beth (Becker) Moorman, 88, died February 20, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born January 2, 1937, in the rural Bushton home of her parents, John Henry and Virgie Blanche (Peterson) Becker.  

Myrna attended Rice County Union 4 Grade School and Bushton schools, graduating in 1954 from Bushton Rural High School and Hutchinson Junior College in 1957.

Myrna was employed for 26 years at Hutchinson Community College, in the registrar's office and then as secretary/administrative assistant to the president.

Myrna was a charter member of the Hutchinson Chapter of Sweet Adelines.  She belonged to Countryside Baptist Church and served as their adult choir director for fifteen years.

On July 29, 1955, she married Harold Eugene Moorman at Bushton.  He died February 25, 2010, after they shared almost 55 years of marriage. 

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, James, Virgil and Charles; parents-in-law, William L. and Laura C. Moorman; stepfather-in-law, Roy Peterson; sisters-in-law, Fern Newton, Dorothy Becker, and Georgia Becker; brothers-in-law, Bob Newton, Bill Fleming, John Clark, and Neil Thompson; granddaughter, Jessica Castle; and great-grandson, Dane Moorman.

Survivors include:  children, Randall (Lorie) of Smithville, MO, Susan (Dan) Castle of Hutchinson, and Patricia (David) Monis of North Chelmsford, MA; sister-in-law, Karen Thompson of Hutchinson; stepbrother-in-law, Don (Barbara) Peterson of Clifton; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
