๐Ÿ€ Salthawk Basketball split with Maize South

MAIZE, Kan.โ€”The Hutch High Salthawk basketball teams traveled to Maize South Tuesday night and split with the Mavericks with the Hutchinson girl's winning the girl's game and Maize South  boy's edging Hutchinson 64-63 in overtime. 

The Salthawk girls came from behind to  win 47-35 after trailing by 7 at half time but was able to tie the game 27-27 going into the 4th quarter with big baskets by Grace Posh and Grace Keeler.  Harley Wilson hit big free throws down the stretch to help the Hutchinson girl's to their 6th win of the season.

In the boy's game, Hutchinson trailed by as many as 16 points in the second half before Nick Lange caught fire and tied the game at 58-58 with a strong drive in the paint to send it into overtime.  The overtime period was back and forth before Maize South got a put back basket by Owen Clyne to take the lead with 13.6 seconds remaining.

Hutchinson was unable to get off a shot and Maize South won 64-63 in OT.  Lange let the Salthawks with 16 points.
