
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The man who drove onto a Louisville sidewalk and struck a Kansas family in town for an AAU basketball tournament in 2022 is still awaiting trial a year later.
Michael Hurley's bond was reduced in June to $50,000 cash as he awaits his final pretrial hearing August 15 in the crash that killed Trey Jones and injured his wife Amy and their daughter, then Nickerson prep and now Iowa Hawkeye Ava Jones on July 5, 2022.
According to reporting from Louisville TV station WDRB, Hurley faces charges of one count of murder, three counts of assault and one count of driving under the influence.
Hurley was on probation in Indiana for drug-related charges at the time of the crash, according to court documents detailing his criminal history.
