HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Salt City Racing is back at the half-mile oval on the Kansas State Fairgrounds Friday night and Phil Nightingale said April was a good start, but they are going to tweak some things.

"The sound system we had was less desirable, I guess is what I would say," Nightingale said. "We have went out and invested some money in a different sound system. I listened to it yesterday and it sounds very good. Everyone will be able to hear things better. We've got a few lineup changes we're going to make for the drivers. The other confusion we had was tickets getting in. If you buy your tickets online, you can just go right through the gate."

Tickets are cheapest if you buy them online. Adult General Admission tickets are $18. Kids General Admission tickets are $12. Pit passes are $35. The numbers were good in April, but they need even more folks on Friday night.

"We scanned 1907 through the gate," Nightingale said. "We had 432 pit passes, is the exact numbers that went through."

The classes to run on Friday will be the same as the ones in April:

  1. IMCA Stock Car
  2. IMCA Modified
  3. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car
  4. URSS-United Rebel Sprint Series
  5. IMCA Hobby Stock
  6. IMCA Northern SportMod

Pits open at 3 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. Hot Laps are at 6:15 p.m. and racing is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
