NEWTON, Kan. — SE 14th Connector (colloquially known as Beer Can Alley) will be closed to all traffic between Logan and Spencer beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, as the contractor, Pearson Construction, begins work on the new SE 10th Street intersection.
The new intersection is being built as part of the Fox Ridge Phase 1 housing development.
SE 14th Connector is expected to be closed for two weeks as Pearson builds the intersection subgrade and concrete.
The street will then reopen until asphalt is placed later this summer, which will require a one- to two-day closure. The detour route will be Spencer to First Street to Kansas to SE 14th.
