County gives winter weather preparedness tips

There are some resources to be aware of that may provide you with assistance on your utility bills during the colder months. Do you or someone you know need help paying home heating bills? To find assistance, visit www.energyhelp.us or call the energy assistance hotline toll-free at 1-866-674-6327.

You can also go to the Kansas Corporation Commission website to learn about the Cold Weather Rule - https://www.kcc.ks.gov/consumer.../cold-weather-rule.

What does the Cold Weather Rule mean? The Cold Weather Rule helps ensure you will have electric, gas, and water service for your home during the winter. You must make pay arrangements with your utility to use the Rule.
