Janeth Ann “Annie” Wallerius departed this life at 8:00 a.m. December 2, 2024, at Hilltop Manor in Cunningham. She was born July 29, 1943, in Hutchinson, the youngest daughter and third child of Clark B. and Lois A. (Hopkins) Adcock.

Annie graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1961 and was a member of First Baptist Church, Hutchinson. She loved golfing, sports, and was an avid KU and Kansas State fan. Annie was head waitress for many years at the very popular restaurants, “Everybody’s” and “Everything’s Jake’s”. For most of her career she handled the scheduling of staff, the opening and closing of the businesses, as well as greeting and seating the customers. Annie loved her career and was quite the “people person”!

In her later years she had a successful craft business called “Country Heart”, making and designing floral arrangements. Her florals sold well as they were quite unique and of exceptional quality. Annie used a variety of flowers and color schemes in beautiful vases, baskets, and wreaths; and many times, blended them with bright Kansas sunflowers. She was in many craft shows around the state, especially at Christmas and other holidays, and loved meeting new people and selling to her many regular customers. Her arrangements were popular to young and old and year-round!

One of Annie’s favorite hobbies was going to thrift stores, auctions, and garage sales. She and her husband J.D. loved to pick up unique and rare items. For many years Annie and J.D. attended area car shows and they loved restoring classic cars. Her favorite was a 1957 Chevy given to her by J.D. Annie loved driving that Chevy around town and to car shows and it won many awards. It was her pride and joy!

Annie was an avid animal lover and loved her Cocker Spaniels, Jake, Missy, Rusty, Annie - her namesake, and a Shih Tzu, Sassy! She took them with her everywhere!

Annie touched many lives during her life and especially all her customers who she met during her restaurant career. She always had a friendly smile and greeted her friends and customers wherever she went. Annie will be greatly missed by the staff at Hilltop Manor, who loved her and her helpful spirit. Her life is celebrated and all the memories she created with her family and friends are treasured.

Annie married Jacob “J.D.” Wallerius June 29, 1991, in Hutchinson. He passed February 9, 2017.

She is survived by: her daughter, Angela Taylor of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Ashley Martin, Nick Malecki, Clay Malecki all of Hutchinson; sister, Judy Montei of Abingdon, VA; sister-in-law, Donna Adcock of McPherson; nieces; Debbie Phillips (Jeffrey) of Toledo, OR; Jana Myers (Jim) of McPherson, Carrie Clark (Curt) of McPherson; nephew, Jamie Dick of Abingdon, VA; stepchildren, Kyann Wallerius Ward, Kendi Arnold (Rick), Kipp Frick (Tracy) all of Hutchinson, and three step-grandchildren.
