Mary Jane Mollett, 96, passed away peacefully May 14, 2023, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born October 11, 1926, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to John R. and Kathryn (Keefer) Marts.
Mary Jane graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Lindenwood College, St. Charles, Missouri, and Kansas State University. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson.
Mary Jane exemplified humble grace, kindness, and was a devoted listener. She had a way of making those around her feel better, even during the valleys of life. She loved her faith, family and friends. Throughout her years at Wesley Towers, Mary Jane enjoyed much valued friendships with residents and members of the staff which greatly enriched her life.
On December 28, 1946, she married Clarence M. Mollett, in Hutchinson. They shared 67 years of marriage prior to his death on September 29, 2013.
Mary Jane is survived by: Children: Michael Mollett, John Mollett (Kathy), Kathy Small (Bill), and Jane Whitlow (Bill); Grandchildren: Carolyn Humpherson (James), Patrick Mollett (Robert Frick), Ben Whitlow (Gresa Sylejmani), Sam Small, Jon Whitlow, and Louis Mollett; Great-grandchildren: Oscar and Finley Humpherson.
A private family service is planned.
