NICKERSON, Kan. — Residents in Nickerson would be able to buy beer earlier on Sunday if a revision to the current city ordinance is passed by the City Council Monday evening.
If approved, the amendment to the ordinance would allow beer to be purchased at 9 a.m. instead of 12 noon. The change would align the city’s ordinance with the state's current law regarding Sunday beer sales.
Also this evening, the council will look over the monthly sales tax numbers and discuss closing off the portion of Speare Street that runs through the middle of the park.
The Nickerson City Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Nickerson city offices.
