
ATCHISON COUNTY —Police are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.
Just after 9:30p.m. on July 24, officers responded to 4th and U.S.59 in Atchison where a vehicle was stopped in the roadway, and the driver, later identifed as 21-year-old Sydney Potter of Independence, Missouri, was slumped over the steering wheel, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
Potter of was transported to Amberwell Hospital for examination. During an investigation at the scene officers located and seized controlled substances.
This week, police arrested Potter on a District Court warrant for possession of alprazolam, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She met the requirement for bond and is no longer in custody, according to Wilson.
