
MANHATTAN, Kan. — According to multiple sources, Kansas State and football coach Chris Klieman are working towards a new contract worth $44 million through the 2030 season.
Klieman will make an average of $5.5 million per year throughout the deal. The deal will go in effect July 1 and will officially be announced this week.
The Wildcats won the Big 12 championship in 2022, the program's first since 2012. K-State finished the 2022 season with a 10-4 record, falling to No. 5 Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.
Klieman has helped lead the Wildcats to a 30-20 record through his first four seasons at the helm. The Wildcats will open the 2023 season on Saturday, September 2 against Southeast Missouri State. The game will be played at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, and can be heard locally on My 93-1.
