SHARE Haiti Auction raises $149,000

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The annual SHARE Haiti Benefit Auction took place Feb. 2 at the Pleasantview Activity Center at 5015 South Dean Road.

The auction raised $149,000 and they fed 800 people at the waffle supper beforehand. This is to benefit their school in Cote de Fer, Haiti.

There are approximately 350 students in the school and there are 50 staff there.

They started with kindergarten and their kindergarten over there has three grades, beginning at three years old, so its three, four and five year olds and then each year they add a grade. This year, they are in sixth grade. 

The big ticket item this year is a fully built out 30x40x10 Stud Wall Garage, it went for $35,000.
