Driver hospitalized after cattle hauler overturns

KINGMAN COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 1:30a.m. Thursday in Kingman County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Peterbilt semi driven by 55-year-old Drew Thomas of Wheeler, Texas, was northbound on Kansas 14 at southeast 50th Street.  The semi hauling cattle drifted to the right and left the roadway. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle  overturned.

EMS transported Thomas to Wesley Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

KINGMAN COUNTY — According to the Kingman County Sheriff's Office, they received support from across the county to respond to an overturned cattle hauler on South K-14 early Thursday morning.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the following: Kingman EMS, Kingman Rescue, Sedgwick County Fire Department, Kansas Department of Transportation, Kansas Highway Patrol, Cheney Animal Clinic and DVM Jesse Birney, Mike & Tyler Garrison, Scott Henning, JSeven Auto Inc, Matt Tatro, and Kingman County Emergency Management.
