
KANSAS CITY —A Kansas City man faces multiple charges in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred last month.
Tyler J. Parris, 29, is charged with 2nd Degree Murder, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson.
According to court records, Kansas City police received a call on Feb. 16 regarding a shooting victim who was dropped off at a hospital and did not survive his injuries. The shooting occurred outside a residence near East 31st Street and Brighton Avenue.
Based on witness reports, Parris was in his truck, arguing with the victim, who was standing outside the truck. The two were arguing about a stolen vehicle. The defendant then allegedly fired at the victim.
A Jackson County judge set the defendant’s bond to $200,000 cash only.
