School leaders from across Kansas visit HCTEA

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — On Friday, Hutchinson Career & Technical Education Academy hosted Kansas Association of School Boards BOLD program.

The Business Operations Leadership Development (BOLD) program brings together 27 school leaders from across the state of Kansas.The BOLD program focuses on the daily operations and long-range planning to run a school district. The program develops knowledge of building and facilities master planning, technology planning, finance strategies, procurement processes, school security, risk management and human resources.

Hutchinson Career and Technical Education Academy was one of seven sites selected. CTEA Director, Travis Riebel, along with Superintendent Dr. Dawn Johnson and Deputy Superintendent Krystal Young, provided guests with a presentation and building tour that included the body shop, medical lab, culinary arts kitchen, classrooms, and more. During a brief presentation, the District highlighted youth apprenticeships, educator industry tours, our strong Hutch Chamber partnership, the Sweet Treat, Sammy’s Shack, and the Heartland Credit Union Salthawk Center.
