Betina Mae “Tina” Ford, 61, died September 21, 2024, at her home in Valley Center, with her husband and daughter by her side. She was born November 22, 1962, in Hutchinson, to Ronald Eugene “Ron” Southards and Gracie Mae Walters.
Tina graduated from Pratt High School in 1980, and Sidney’s Hairdressing College. She most recently worked over 12 years as a paraeducator for Valley Center High School. Tina enjoyed reading all types of genres, making crafts, and always had music playing from her Pandora account. Most of all, she cherished her time spent shopping and receiving pedicures with her daughter and granddaughter.
On December 12, 1981, she married Russell “Rusty” Ford, at Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.
Tina is survived by: her husband of almost 43 years, Rusty of Valley Center; daughter, Meghan Graham (Ian); granddaughter, Ava Graham, all of Wichita; stepmother, Kay Southards of South Hutchinson; brother, Alan Southards of Lawrence; sister-in-law, Chanin Aumiller (David) of Hutchinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Ron Southards; her mother, Gracie Walters; and a son, Randall J. “Randy” Ford.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2024, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Mark Summers officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
