DeAnne Karen Thomas, 80, died October 21, 2023, at Legend Senior Living, Hutchinson. She was born February 18, 1943, in Wichita, to Lyndle Everett and Margaret Irene (Eppler) DeHart.
DeAnne graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1961 and graduated Hutchinson Community College in 1963. She worked in the advertising department for Dillons Food Stores for many years.
DeAnne was an artist who enjoyed painting, sewing, and crafting. In her younger years, Deanne also loved to play golf.
On September 8, 1973, she married George Walker Thomas, in Hutchinson. They shared 29 years of marriage, prior to his death on November 6, 2002.
DeAnne is survived by: her sisters, Lynda Oneal of Wichita and Donna Brigman of Hutchinson; nieces, Marlena (Galen) Redenbaugh and Loralea Brigman both of Hutchinson; nephews, Mark (Diana) VanHorn of Wichita, Alan (Beverly) VanHorn of Overland Park, and Jeff (Cindy) VanHorn of Jonesboro, AR.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George and parents, Lyndle and Margaret.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Dillon Nature Center Community Room from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Traditions Health Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
